Shipping information for Free-Wheeling Single Girl templates

Free Wheeling Single Girl is one of the iconic quilt patterns of our era.  Denyse Schmidt's modern take on the traditional double wedding ring pattern is inspired, and  the joyful play of fabrics and those stand-alone rings speak volumes about changes in women's lives and the options available to them over time.  (Though there is still a long way to go in may respects).

Judging from comments on social media in the last 24 hours, it seems as though piecing this masterpiece hasn't always been a joy-filled experience for many.  That's where our full-size, precision templates which can be used with your rotary cutter will really help.

Quiltcon pick-up option

Free-wheeling single girl templates at quiltcon

I've explored quite a few shipping options today and I have great news if you are travelling to Quiltcon (Feb 22-25, 2018) in Pasadena.

I have managed to convince someone to squeeze some template and pattern sets into their luggage.  They will be attending each day and are happy for us to arrange a general pickup time.   The number that can be carried will be capped, so its first in best dressed.

I will forward details about the pick up arrangements in the weeks to come to people who choose this option, but you can purchase either of our sets for pick up at QuiltCon now and save a lot of dosh.

What if you're not going to Quiltcon?

The ugly truth though is that because of the size of the blocks, the templates when packed for shipping are bulky and a weird size.  They just don't fit in any of the pre-paid satchels or mailers, and they need to be packed securely so that the pieces aren't damaged in transit.

After trying out a number of different packaging and shipping options today, I've outlined the best shipping costs I have been able to find so far below.

All prices are quoted in AUD$ for international Air Mail (estimated 5-7 days delivery with tracking).  If the shipping costs you are charged at the checkout are more than what I pay at the post office, a refund will be issued.

  • US and Canada $41.18
  • Greater Europe (France, Italy, Germany etc) $43.95
  • UK $43.05
  • New Zealand $30.46
Shoppers outside of Australia can purchase a template and pattern set here and a set without the pattern here

If you need the shipping details for anywhere else just email me at shop@thenextstitch.com.au

The cost of domestic shipping  (via Australia Post parcel post) is being determined by the size of the parcel, where for international orders it is by weight only.

Unfortunately there is no way differentiate this in my checkout system on Shopify, so I have created a separate product especially for everyone here in Australia which includes the shipping cost.  No surprises at the checkout!

The demand for the templates has taken me by surprise, with the first batch selling out within two days.  To tell you the truth, I can't quite believe it.

More templates were cut yesterday and are on their way.  They should again be available from the middle of next week

I just purchased this template but there’s no place for me to note that it will be picked up by my friend Katie Pedersen at Quiltcon. Could you please confirm you get this message and that the pickup will be arranged?

      Thanks!
