We're Moving!

We're Moving!

It has been so hectic here for so long.  Its a relief to finally be able to tell you all about what has been going on behind the scenes.

In a nutshell:

  • the house has sold,
  • we're in the process of buying another and
  • there are mountains of packing boxes growing in every corner!

As I run The Next Stitch from home, normal operations will be impacted but I am working to minimize the disruption as much as possible.

Shipping and key dates

There will be a short interruption to our usual snappy shipping.

All orders placed before midnight  AEDT Tuesday 27 April will be shipped from Hervey Bay before we leave.

Normal shipping will resume from our new digs on Tuesday 11 May.

Moving Sale

I've changed my cutting blade and I'm getting ready for the biggest sale we've ever had!

25% off when you spend $50

Spend $50 and you will enjoy 25% off a massive array of patterns, notions and of course fabrics from today.

The list is enormous, and in fact too long to name them all here, but there are lots projects and fabrics from your favourite designers like Carolyn Friedlander, Libs Elliott, Denyse Schmidt, Pen + Paper Patterns, Rifle Paper Co and more.  AND for the first time ever our huge range of Kona, Bella and linen solids, and Essex linens are also discounted.

No code is needed.

The discount will kick in on eligible products once your cart hits the magical $50 mark.

Sorry folks, no fat quarters will be cut on sale fabrics as it is simpler for me to keep track of inventory and pack fabric on the bolts than deal with a bazillion loose FQs.

The sale will continue through until midnight Friday 23 April.

Can't see the discount?

The discount is live now.  As I am just moving, and NOT closing down, not everything is on sale.  Collections which have only just arrived such as Windham Posy and Figo True Kisses aren't included in the sale.  Neither are Ruby Star Society basics and some of their more recent fabrics.

That being said, you will find some of these fabrics popping up in our end of bolt bin so you should definitely check out our end of bolt and remnant section before you complete your purchase.  I am adding favourites from past collections plus some irregular lenghts from some of the latest and most popular collections.

And last of all, if you haven't yet, make sure you follow @thenextstitch_destash as there will likely be some scrap bundles available.

Tree change anyone?

I am a plains-woman at heart.  Hervey Bay is a magnificent place to live and work and I will miss the beach enormously, but the central-western plains of NSW has always felt like home.

so we are moving to Dubbo!

If you are new here you mightn't know that I live with my Mum after moving to Queensland to help her provide palliative care for my Dad and juggling running the business from home.  She still has a fair bit of pep in her step but she has been keen to leave the Bay and make a fresh start and be closer to her grandies while able to travel to visit them independently.

She'd been keen to move for a while but I was dragging my feet as I felt it important that a big decision like this shouldn't be made while grief was so fresh.  Then COVID with all of its border closures and uncertainty happened, and we were hit with more loss with the sudden death of my sister. Pretty much, 2020 solidified for both of us that you never know what is around the corner, and that it was time we just got on with it!

While Dubbo isn't my home town, it is the closest regional shopping centre and I continue to have a lot of close connections with friends and extended family in the region.

I'm looking forward to being back of the thick of it.

Dubbo here we come!

A timely decision by the sound of it with all that grief a new place nearer loved ones will provide comfort and company. Love shopping with you and look forward to continuing to do so.
We moved from Mudgee to Tweed Heads for the hospital care we both require a couple of years ago so we know the regions well and absolutely loved living there. It’s impossible to take the country out of a person who has grown up there. We’re still adjusting but missing that part of Australia which will always have our heart.
All the best with the move.
I hope it goes well.
Best regards
Diana
